Haunt Theory
Dragon's
Head Inn started out to give the neighborhood
kids some added fun on Halloween.
It has grown so
much over the years that the nicer friendly
haunt has
slowly been taken over by a high tech haunt of terror.
Still
not using much in the way of blood guts and gore
the use of animatronics
and special effects has greatly
enhanced the show.
We have
a lot of the old fashion jump out of a dark
corner and scare you. We also
have special effects that
twist reality just a bit. We still work by the
old rules and
that is no actor touches anyone at any time. At no
time
are you in any real danger.
FAQ's
1.
Can my young child go into the haunt ?
We do suggest
that no one under the age of 12 enter the original dark haunt
Dragon's Head Inn
and this years newest haunt 13 TERRORS.
The
Black Light Haunt "The
Swamp" is not as "scary" as the dark haunt,
but it does have
some jump out scares that might be hard on little ones.
2.
What can I do with my child if I want to go in the haunt?
When you get to the head of the line one adult can go
through while
the other waits.
When parent one gets out the second parent can go
through.
This way you don't have to
stand in line twice.
We will
also have a special area for our younger patrons to play in. Our
inflatable
haunt
will be there for them to enjoy without any of the adults scare.
With the purchase of a regular pass to the haunts the ticket for the
play
area is only one dollar.
3.
Can I carry my child through the haunt?
In the
past we have found that adults holding children are not a safe idea in
the
haunt. When the parent jumps in fear, sometimes the little one
gets
bumped.
For the safety of the child we ask that you at no time carry your
child. If your child
becomes so scared that they have to be carried a cast member will
show you
to the nearest exit.
4.
I was half way through and we were to scared
can
we have a refund?
Unless
it is a emergency we have a no refund policy. You have paid for us to
scare
you.
If you are so scared that you have to leave the haunt early
and not
go on
then we have done our job. If we have done our job then there is
no reason for a refund.
That is why we ask you not to take in younger children.
5.
What kind of clothing should I wear ?
We suggest
for your safety that you wear comfortable flats, no high heels, and
warm
clothing. Sometimes the wait in line is long and it can get cold.
Shoes
must be worn at all times.
Costumes
are allowed during the run of the haunt. The only things we ask is if
your
costume has a weapon or anything
that might be used as such we will ask you to
leave it at the front until
you are done with your visit.
Also we
ask that adults do not wear masks that cover their face. This is so our
actors do not mistake you for one of our people. Also for your
safety so
you can see
where you are going.
6.
We have a wheelchair can we still come ?
We have
worked very hard over the years with our group to make sure that the
haunt
is wheelchair assessable. Some areas might be tricky but we will have
"Ghoul
Aids"
on hand to help you enjoy your stay with us.
7.
Do you take credit cards?
2005 will be the first year that we will
be able to accept credit cards. We will be
accepting Mastercard and Visa cards only.
We will also take local checks. The local checks must be
printed with all important
information
and drawn on a local bank.
8.
Do you allow photos to be taken?
Inside
the haunts we ask you not to take any pictures.
It can hurt the actors
eyes and ruin the event for other patrons. Outside in the
open area
photos are allowed.
We will
also have a photo op area where we can take your picture with the
monsters
and props for a small fee. This will make a great souvenir to remember
your time with us.
9.
Can you tell me how long the lines will be?
We can
never guess how long the lines will take. The early part of the season
is
usually slower than when it gets closer to Halloween. We will
have entertainment to
keep our guests busy no matter how long the line.
10.
Can I drop my kids off and get them later?
We request
that no children or groups of children under the age of 12 be on
the property
without their parents or guardian. If you do drop off your older
children
and
there is an problem you will be called and asked to pick them up
immediately.

Where is the Inn and how do I make reservations?
At this
time the Inn is only a seasonal event in October. We do not take
reservations
for nighttime stays, unless of course you want to stay forever.
Maybe in
the future the Inn will become a real lodging.
13. Are
there items to buy
or food?
2005 will see a brand new gift shop. We
will be carrying a line of professional makeup for Halloween. We will
also have a large selection of custom made masks and costumes.
The plan is to also increase the types of refreshments available.

Where does the money go from this event?
All the money
raised at this event, after costs, is donated to several local
children's
charities. None of our volunteers or board of directors receive any pay
for
